Day-wise itinerary

  1. Day 1: Guwahati → Shillong (≈100 km, 3 hrs)

    Pickup from Guwahati airport, railway station or hotel. Drive up the hills to Shillong with a stop at Umiam Lake (Barapani) for photos. Evening free at Police Bazaar and Ward’s Lake.

  2. Day 2: Shillong → Cherrapunji (≈55 km)

    Visit Elephant Falls and Shillong Peak (subject to access), then continue to Cherrapunji. Sightseeing at Mawkdok Dympep valley view, Nohkalikai Falls, Mawsmai Cave and Seven Sisters Falls. Overnight at Cherrapunji.

  3. Day 3: Cherrapunji – Living Root Bridges

    Optional trek down to the Double Decker Living Root Bridge at Nongriat (about 3,500 steps each way) or the easier single root bridge near Mawlynnong later. Afternoon visit to Arwah Cave and Eco Park.

  4. Day 4: Cherrapunji → Mawlynnong → Dawki → Shillong

    Drive to Mawlynnong village and its sky-view bamboo tower, then on to Dawki for a boat ride on the transparent Umngot river near the Bangladesh border. Return to Shillong for the night.

  5. Day 5: Shillong → Guwahati drop

    After breakfast, drive back to Guwahati. Optional stop at Kamakhya Temple if time permits. Drop at the airport, railway station or hotel.
